ProxmoxCloud — Managing Your Virtual Server

Your ProxmoxCloud VPS comes with a full self-service control panel inside your client area. Open Services → your VPS → Manage to reach it. This guide covers what each part does.

Overview & live stats

The Overview tab shows power state, uptime, and live CPU, memory, disk and network graphs, plus your server's hostname, plan and primary IP addresses. Graphs refresh automatically.

Power controls

Start, graceful shutdown, reboot and (where enabled) stop. Actions are confirmed and tracked; the power state updates within a few seconds.

Console (VNC / serial)

Open a browser console to your server without SSH — useful for recovery or first-boot setup.

Snapshots

Take point-in-time snapshots before risky changes and roll back in one click. Optional scheduled snapshots keep a rolling set for you.

Backups & restore

Automatic scheduled backups run to Proxmox Backup Server with size-based retention. From the Backups panel you can run a backup now, browse a backup's files, protect a backup from pruning, download it, and restore. New: where your plan offers them, you can choose a backup tier (for example a longer-retention or off-site option) from the Backups panel — your current tier is always shown.

Tags

New: label your server with your own tags (for example web, prod, db01) from the Overview tab. Tags are for your own organisation and appear on the server in the control panel; they never change how it runs.

Reinstall / rebuild the OS

Reinstall a fresh operating system from the allowed template list. A pre-rebuild safety backup is offered automatically when backups are enabled, and you can keep your existing IP and set a new hostname/password during the rebuild. Reinstalling erases all data on the server.

Networking, firewall & reverse DNS

See your assigned IPs, manage the guest firewall's default policy and rules (where enabled), and set reverse DNS (PTR) for your IP where your plan allows it.

Cloud-init first-boot setup

Where enabled, set a first-boot configuration (hostname, timezone, packages to install, and more) that applies the next time your server reboots or is reinstalled.

SSH keys & API tokens

Add SSH keys for password-less access and mint scoped API tokens for automation. Tokens are shown once at creation.

Usage & bandwidth

Month-to-date bandwidth, a daily series, and — on metered plans — a usage statement with a CSV export so you can see exactly what was measured and any overage.

Getting help

If anything looks wrong, open a support ticket from your client area and include your service name. Our team can see the same activity trail you do.

New in 2.59.0: if your plan offers per-GB backup billing, backup storage above your included allowance is now metered at your chosen backup tier’s rate (shown live in the Backups panel), and newly-added backup locations are picked up automatically.

Current suite version: 2.61.0. Features vary by plan; some controls only appear when your plan enables them.
